Valentine's Date

I hope everyone had a Valentine's Day/weekend filled with lots of love!!

I have been with Nick for almost three years, so this was our third Valentine's Day as a couple.  But, we have never actually spent Valentine's Day together!  Our first one, in 2017, I was studying in London.  Our second, in 2018, he was working.  And this year, I was sick.  So last year and this year we celebrated the weekend after, which is fine with me.  Restaurants are a little quieter, and it seems a little more like a regular dinner date, rather than one we feel like we have to go on just because of the holiday.

We went to one of our favorite restaurants and had such a lovely night, but partially because of one thing in particular.

We arrived at the restaurant to the most beautiful bouquet of flowers that Nick had dropped off earlier that day for them to put on the table for me.  Now, let me be the first to say that I am not someone who generally likes flowers on Valentine's Day.  In my opinion, I don't need a holiday to say and be told, "I love you," or be given flowers and chocolates.  However, this was so unexpected, amazing, and thoughtful, so I did not mind it at all and could not stop smiling for at least 20 minutes!!

The beautiful flowers.  Love those pink napkins for V-Day!!

Don't they look so cute in my room?!

The beautiful card he got me, too!

I wore one of my favorite outfits at the moment.  Every part of it (except for the coat and the bag) were gifts for Christmas from either Nick or my brother and sister-in-law.  I'll link everything below with matching pictures!

My top and skirt are both from my brother and sister-in-law and are from one of my favorite stores, Madewell.  If you don't have a Madewell store near you, their items are sold in Nordstrom stores, as well as Nordstrom.com and Madewell.com.

The top is the Puff-Sleeve Mockneck Top in "Antique Cream."  It is currently on sale for only $39.99 (and take off an additional 30%)!!  I'm wearing a size small, and it runs pretty true to size!

The skirt is the Fireside Mini Skirt in "Rich Plum."  I am absolutely in love with this skirt!!  It fits so nicely and sits well on my hips!  Like the top, it is also on sale and costs $69.99 (you can take an additional 30% off, too).  I am wearing a size 4, and generally wear either a 4 or 6 depending on where the piece is from.

The boots I have on are thigh-high Steve Madden.  The ones I have are not available anymore, but I found some similar ones!  I wanted a pair with a high heel, so that's what Nick got me, but I do love the smaller heel thigh-high boots as well.  Mine have a calf circumference of 13" and they fit perfectly!  A big issue I have had with the over-the-knee boots is that they are too big around the calves and slide down.  Before ordering boots like this, it is always best to measure your calves and check the calf circumference before ordering.  It is also good to see the shaft height, because if you are under 5'4", the boots could potentially end up being too high above the knee!

The first boot I have chosen to replace mine are the Brinkley Over the Knee Stretch Boot by Steve Madden.  They have a calf circumference of 14" and are 40% off for only $77!!

There are also the Forbidden Over the Knee Boots, also by Steve Madden.  What I love about these is the peep toe, making them super fun and flirty!  These ones are a little bit bigger with a 15" circumference and without a string to tighten them at the top, which may be a deal breaker for some.  But at only $77 (on sale from $129), it's hard to pass them up!

I would love to see what all of you wore for Valentine's Day!  Comment your photos down below!

Until next time!  CLINK!  Jordan xx

Night at the Aquarium

At the end of January, my boyfriend's place of employment was holding a banquet at the Adventure Aquarium in New Jersey.  If you thought aquariums were cool to attend during the day, getting to go at night all dressed up for a nice dinner was even more of an experience!

It took me a while to find something good to wear, but the outfit I ended up getting was beyond perfect!

Since the flash wasn't on in the aquarium photos, it's hard to see the sparkle the dress has, which is why I included that top picture of Nick and myself.

The dress fit like it was made just for me.  A big concern I always have with glittery dresses is that they are going to be itchy, but this dress was not at all.  There was a thin layer underneath the dress that kept me cool and comfortable the whole night, and it stayed put as well; it didn't bunch up at all.

Now for the details on my outfit!

1.  Leith Shine Minidress // Currently on sale for $42.40 (I paid $69 at the time), this dress is a black multi-glitter that shines as colorful as the setting you are in.  It also fits very true to size (I'm a small and am wearing a small).

2.  Leith Crystal Slice Earrings // When I bought the dress, I knew I wanted very sparkly earrings, so these are perfect!  They fall very nicely and are only $20!

3. Heels // The shoes I'm wearing are Jessica Simpson from about 2 years ago!  I found a similar pair by Jewel Badgley Mischka available at Nordstrom for $98.95.  However, if I could go back and wear a different shoe, I think I would choose the Sam Edelman Ariella Ankle Strap Sandal in black (#4), which are also available at Nordstrom for $99.95.  I think the black are better if you don't want to take away from the dress and the earrings!

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

We are getting SO close to Valentine's Day, but I know that a lot of you probably have not done your shopping yet, which is okay because I just spent six hours on Amazon getting presents for my boyfriend!

I made this quick little guide to help you figure out some last minute gifts for your loved ones (or if you just want to treat yourself)!

1.  Instax Multi Picture Frame // If the person you are buying for loves their Instax Mini as much as I do, they are going to la-la-love this picture frame!  It can hold three pictures, and comes in three different colors!  Oh, and it's also only $14!

2.  Leith Midi Open Cardigan // I got this for Christmas in lavender and it's one of my favorite cardigans!  It is super soft, comfortable, and doesn't fit awkwardly over t-shirts like some cardigans tend to do.  However, as strange as this may sound, as I was writing this, lavender sold out, but it also comes in "Red Grape," which is a beautiful maroon, and "Coral Orange Heather," which is also stunning.  Both colors are great for more than just one season as well!

3.  Lidstar // These cream eye shadows from Glossier are a game changer!  The link I provided on the left is for a duo--choose any two colors for $30.  This link is for one color, which is $18.  For Christmas, I got the duo in Cub and Fawn and I am completely obsessed with them!  I love these when I am going for a natural make-up look, or for when I'm just running some errands, because the pigmentation is perfect for everyday activities.

4.  Heart-Shaped Mini Waffle Maker // What says "Valentine's Day" better than hearts?!  I don't think anything!  And that is why this is one of the most appropriate Valentine's Day gifts you can give.  I got this a few months back and so far it has not disappointed me.  Honestly, the only waffles I have seen that are cuter are the Mickey Mouse waffles in Disney World!  All you have to do is top them with berries and whipped cream to make the most adorable and romantic breakfast in bed... and it's only $18!

5.  Pom-pom Slippers // These are my favorite slippers ever!!!  I got them on sale for $10 a few weeks ago at Victoria's Secret, and was super upset because they didn't have my favorite color (sea green) in my size anymore, so I got the lavender, but I am not complaining at all.  You won't be complaining either, because now this color is only $5.99!!  However, if you want them in black, pink, red, or sea green, they are going to cost you $10, which is still an amazing buy (because they're usually $29.50).  They are super cute on and keep my feet very warm, which is a must because my feet are always freezing!  Oh, and it also helps that they match with my Leith sweater!

1.  Cotton Crew Neck Sweater // These sweaters from UNIQLO are the best!  I get my boyfriend one of these sweaters every year in a different color because he loves layering them over button-downs for work.  They have every color imaginable, and they are so soft and cozy.  At only $29.90, it's hard not to stock up!

2.  Ocean Cologne // If you are looking for a cheaper cologne (non-designer), you should look at Bath and Body Works.  I got this scent for my boyfriend a few years ago and I love the way it smells (I guess he enjoys it, too!).  Sometimes, cologne can be a little too strong for me, but I find that the Ocean one is just strong enough to make a mark without gagging the people you are walking past, if you know what I mean.  It's available for $34.50.

3.  The Art of the LP // Album art through time has been creative and fascinating.  Get this book for pretty much anyone who has an appreciation for art and/or music in any capacity!  Sitting on your couch, flipping through these pages with a cup of coffee is the perfect way to end the day.  You can get it from Amazon for $23.98 (and P.S., it's available through Prime so you can get it before V-Day if you order in time)!

4.  Playstation Classic Console // We remember when Atari Classic, Sega Classic, NES and SNES Classic came out, right?  I try to forget every day because of how crazy those lines were!  But with these releases came lots of nostalgia and good memories.  Well, this year, Sony released the Playstation Classic, with games such as Tekken 3, Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, and so many more. Getting anyone this console is sure to make them feel like a kid again!  Currently on Amazon you can get this for 48% off, making the total $51 (and it's another gift that can be here ASAP through Prime)!  But when you think about it, you can't put a price on reminiscing.

I hope you find this guide at least a tad helpful in your Valentine's Day shopping!  Drop some more gift ideas down in the comments and I'll test them out!!

Until next time!  CLINK!
